LOCAL NEWS

Miss Alice CHAPMAN is visiting friends in
Bristol.

Dr. A.F. HARGRAVE has returned from a purchasing trip east.

Information from Mr. A.A. SPOTTS at Graham is that he is very ill.

Mr. J.P. KROLL has returned from a business trip to
Philadelphia.

Mr. Jos. STRAS, of
Salem, joined his family here a few days since.

Mr. H.B HULL, of
Marion, was in town during the week on business.

Mr. and Mrs. R.L. DODD returned Sunday, from a visit to friends in Carrol county, where they feasted on the fat of the land.

Messrs. A.G. NORRIS and
L.K. BROOKS, of the Richlands Brick and Manufacturing Company were in town Wednesday.

McCall and HARRISSON'S fine horses, Black Diamond and
Midnight took second premium at the Lynchburg Fair and had votes for first.

Miss Charlotte HENRY from Tazewell C.H. has been visiting her sister Miss Lucia HENRY at Stonewall Jackson Institute - Abingdon Virginia.

Mr. S.H. TURNER has sold the rights of several counties for the sale of his bed spring patent to Mr. L.E. MILLER, who will push the business in his territory.
