JOHN Q. WIMMER -- John Quincy Wimmer, 75, died last
Tuesday night at his home at Route 1, Tazewell, Va. He was the son of the late Jessie
and Sarah Shrader Wimmer. Surviving are his wife,
Mrs. Cora Lee Meredith Wimmer; four sons, Gratton and Ray Wimmer of
Tazewell, Cecil Wimmer of Hyattsville, Md. and J. J. Wimmer, Jr. of Cedar Bluff, Va. Two
daughters, Mrs. Raymond Catron of Seabrook, Md. and Mrs. John
Sheets of Riverdale, Md. Also surviving are 23 grand
children and 34 great grand children, a brother, Dennis Wimmer
of North Tazewell; and two sisters, Mrs. Charles Kinder of Aberdeen, Md. and
Mrs. John Morehead of Tazewell. Funeral services were conducted Friday at
2pm
in Fincastle Baptist Church, with Rev. L.A. Talbert
officiating. Burial was in Maplewood cemetery.
HENRY T. RINGSTAFF -- Henry Thomas Ringstaff, 82, of
Pounding Mill, Va. died Saturday morning in a Richlands
Va. hospital following a lingering illness. An employee of Norfolk and Western Railway, maintenance of
way department for more then 40 years, he retired 10 years ago. He was a
member of the Christian church. Surviving are four daughters, four sons,
23 grand children and 15 great grand children. Funeral services were
conducted Monday at 2PM in Pounding Mill Union Church with
Rev. M.E.N. Lindsay and Rev. Max Allison Officating.
MRS. INEZ HUTCHINSON THOMPSON -- Mrs. Inex Hutchinson
Thompson, 76, of Thompson Valley, widow of Mr. W.E. Thompson died
Sunday in a Richlands Hospital. Funeral services were Monday
afternoon from the Main Street Methodist church with the REv.
W.J. Carter and the Rev. W.E. Mustard officiating. Burial followed in Maplewood Cemetery. Survivors include two
daughters: Mrs. J.E. Lewis of Beaufort, NC. and Mrs. Carl Pridgen
of Thompson Valley; three sisters; Mrs. J.M. Pollard of Ashland, Va.,
Mrs. H.W. Taylor of Hanover, Va. and Mrs. E.S. Blodgett
of Pinehurst, NC., One brother, W. C. Hutchinson of King William County, Va.
and five grandchildren; She was preceded in death by one son.
MRS. FLORA GILLESPIE GREEAR -- Funeral services for Mrs. Flora Gillespie Greear, 85, of cliffield were
held Tuesday afternoon at the Cliffield Union
Church. The Rev. W. E. Mustard officiated and burial followed in the Maplewood cemetery. Mrs. Greear
died Sunday in St. Lukes Hospital. She was well known in Tazewell County and particularly noted as an
outstanding student of the Bible. She is survived by a son, W.B. Greear, Jr. of Cliffield and five
grandchildren. Pallbearers were T.D. Gillespie, Jim Sam Gillespie, Carl
Gillespie, Robert Carner, Roy White, Richard Greear, R. C. Allison and Garland Hess. |
