George M. Brown, aged 70, retired president of
the Richlands National Bank, died at his home in Richlands last Saturday.
He had been ill several months. Funeral services were held Sunday
afternoon from Layman's Chapel and were in charge of the REv. Perry Herndon, assisted by the Rev. Nelson Barker. Mr. Brown was twice married. His first wife, Miss Belle Hurt, died in 1936 and his second wife was Jennie Repass, who survives. Also surviving are his sons, Eldridge who is stationed at Camp Beale, Ca., and the following sisters: Mrs. Ella M. Weddington, of Coal Run, Ky.; Mrs. Rose E. McKenry, of Lynchburg; Mrs. Florence Crabtree, Mrs. Lena B. Carter, and Mrs. Nancy Fletcher, all of Richlands. |
