Pounding Mill -- The sad news reached us last night of the death of Miss Bertha Harris, of this place, which took place at Tazewell Tuesday night. She was stricken with appendicitis on Thursday week before, and her case was hopeless from the first. The operation was performed on Sunday night. She leaves a father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Milton Harris, six sisters and four brothers, besides many other relatives and friends to mourn her death. She was about 25 years of age. Her remains were brought here on No. 5 Wednesday morning. The interment was in the Thomas Cemetery. Her mother and sister, Mrs. Gus Hoops accompanied her to Tazewell Sunday night and remained until the end came. Much sympathy goes out to the bereaved family.
