 Bertha A. Jones

Bertha A. Jones, age 62, resident of the Lick Lot section of Richlands succumbed at her home early Sunday evening, Nov.21^st following an illness of sixteen months. Death was attrevuted to complications. Mrs. Jones was born at Honaker, the daughter of the late John and Mary Ball Ray, both natives of Russell County. She was educated in thefree schools of that county, and resided at Raven untill 1945, when she moved to Richlands. She is survived by her husband Isaac Jones and the following children all by former marriage, Burke Hess, Mrs. Dixie Dye, Mrs. Mary Plaster, Mrs. Gladys Horton and Larry Hess, all of Raven, Mrs. Juanita Meade, Mrs. Helen Jones, both of Richlands, Mrs. Olaf Ray, Mrs. Peggy Bailey,both of Akron, Ohio. She es also survived byTwo sisters. Mrs. Georgia Griffith and Mrs. King Plaster, both of Swords Creek, ond one brother, Willis Ray of Red Ash. Funeral Services were held Wednesday afternoon at 1:00 in the Raven Penecostal Church with the Rev.W.T.Millsaps, pastor, in charge of the service assisted by Rev. Perry Herndon and Rev. Albert Ball. Interment was in the Hess Cemetery in West Raven. The Remains were removed from the Farmer Funeral Home Chapel to the Residence of the deceased Monday afternoon.
