William D. Dye
William D. Dye, 79, of
Richlands, Va.,died Friday, July 22, in a Richlands Hospital following a
one-month illness.
Mr. Dye was born in Elk
Garden, Va., the son of the late Christopher and Leah Jane Thompson Dye.
He was married to Edna McGlothlin in 1899. She preceded him in death in
1953.
He is survived by four sons;
W.D. Jr., Graham and Hugh Dye all of Richlands, and Clarence of Gate City,
Va.; two daughters; Mrs. Virgie Horton and Mrs. Daisy Davis, both of
Richlands. Two sisters; Mrs. J. P. McGlothlin of Raven,Va., and Mrs. R.R.
Dye also of Richlands. Also surviving are 25 grandchildren and eight
great-grandchildren.
Mr. Dye had lived his entire
life in Russell and Tazewell County area. He had lived in Richlands area
for the past 56 years and was united to the Methodist Church early in
life.
The body was removed from the
Farmer Funeral Home to the residence Saturday at 11:00 a.m.
Funeral services were
conducted Sunday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. at the Laymans Chapel in Richlands,
Rev Nelson Barker, and Rev. John Herndon officating. Interment followed in
the Hankins Cemetery.
