Funeral Services will be held this morning at Raven for Luther F. Hess, A former Russell county deputy sheriff. Who died in a local hospital early Friday morning, following a years illness of complications. For a number of years Mr. Hess engaged in farming and was widely known throughout the Raven Section. The Rev. Albert Ball will conduct the services after which the body will be removed to the Hess cemetery where local 6199 of the UMAW will conduct the committal rites.

Surviving are his wife, Bertha Hess, and Ten children. His mother Mrs. Katherine Hess, of Mill Creek, also survives.
