Smith Funeral Rites

Held at Raven Sunday

Funeral Rites were conducted Sunday at Raven for Robert W. Smith, 30 year old miner who was killed by a slate fall in the Red Ash mine last Thursday morning,. Burial was in the Hess family cemetery and arrangements were by Richlands Funeral Home.

Mr. Smith had lived in Raven all of his life, where the Smith family is well known. For the past ten years he had worked in the Red Ash mine. He is survived by his widow and two children, Bobbie and Phyllis. His, Mrs. H. L. Smith, one brother, Lawrence, of Raven, and one sister, Mrs. Virgie Short, of Richlands, also survive him.
