	George W. Thompson, a widely known citizen of Gratton, died Tuesday morning at the home of his son, Albert Thompson, after an illness of several months. He was born December 28, 1868, at Gratton, and was 67 years old. His wife preceded him to the grave eighteen years ago. He is survived by one sister, three brothers and seven children: Joe Thopson, of Poolesville, MD.; T.W. Thompson of Freeland, MD., Mrs. A.W. Matthews, of Germantown, MD; Mrs. D.S Fox of cove Creek; Mrs. James kimbel and Albert Thompson of Tazewell. Funeral services were held at Mt. Olivet church at Gratton, conducted by Rev. W.W Arrowood, assisted by Rev. P.M. Blankenship.
