This Indenture made this twentieth day of September in the year of our
Lord
1819 between Christian PETERS of the County of Giles and State of
Virginia of
the first part and John THOMPSON, Jun’r, Noah BLANKENSHIP, Ely
BLANKENSHIP,
Francis PRINCE, Jerymiah JONES, William TILLER, Travis STOWERS, Linsey
DAVIS,
Robert STUART, David PAYNE, Lewis FORD, Samuel B. BLANKENSHIP, Samuel

STRALY Jun’r., of the County of Giles and State aforesaid of the second part
witnessith
that whereas the said Christian PETERS of the first part, the first part
for
and in consideration of the sum of thirty four dollars to him in hand
paid
by the parties of the second part the receival whereof he dothe hereby
acknowledge hath given, granted, bargained and sold unto the said party of
the
second part a certain tract or parcel of Land containing severteen hundred
acres
being part of a large Survey of seventy five thousand acres Patented in the
name of Robert POLLARD and sold for taxes and conveyed by the Sheriff of
Wythe
County to John HEADRICK and others, sold by them a Joseph FLETCHER and
others
and by them to the said Christian PETERS and James MULLINS which tract or
part the said Survey containing seventeen hundred acres is situate lying
and
being in the County of Giles on East River Mountain and bounded as
followeth, to
wit: Beginning at the Tazewell County line at pointers (?) and running
with
said line 160 poles up the north side of the Mountain to the top, thence
down
the said Mountain towards New River so far as to make the number of acres
to
run from the top of said Mountain one hundred and sixty poles down the
north
side of the Mountain to pointers and from thence up the north side of the
Mountain bearing one hundred and sixty poles from there to (?) the place
of
Beginning together with the appurtenances belonging to the said parties
of the
second part and the said party of the first part for himself and his
heirs, the
said tract or parcel of Land to the said parties of the second part the
said
parcel of Land to the sole use and behoof of them the said parties of the
second part and the said Christian PETERS of the first part doth consent
and
agree to the said parties of the second part that he will warrant and
defend
the said Land to the said parties of the second part against the claim of
him,
the said Christian PETERS, his heirs and all those claiming under him and
not
others in Witness whereof the said Christian PETERS have
hereunto set his
hand and Seal the day and date above written.
