Parker
Family Land Grants
by
June White
(Submitter Note: Like the Banks family in Greenbrier County, the Parkers were renowned for
land acquisitions in SW VA and in WV. Among the counties in which they acquired land were
Braxton, Buchanan, Fayette, Gilmer, Grayson, Greenbrier, McDowell, Mason, Randolph, Ritchie,
and Tazewell. Often, they acquired land with natives of the counties in which they were
interested. The Parkers seem to have roots in Grayson County and connections in Greenbrier to
the Warderers (Wardens), another family whose land acquisitions were legendary.)
